Backup and Disaster Recovery for New Jersey Businesses

A backup you have never restored is a rumor

The services hub already says it: we design backup strategies that fit your recovery-time objectives and we test them so you know they work when it matters. That is the job. Image-based or file-level, Microsoft 365 included, copies that are not sitting on the same host that just got encrypted. Marmic has been responsible for this layer for New Jersey firms since 1997. We do not treat backup as a checkbox on a quarterly invoice.

What we protect

Servers, workstations that actually hold unique data, and the Microsoft 365 tenant — mail and files that live in someone else’s cloud still need a copy you control. We size retention and recovery time to the business, not to a product SKU. A professional office that cannot lose a week of email is a different design than a shop that can rebuild a single file server overnight. We will say so on the assessment instead of selling you the larger box.

Ransomware is a restore problem as much as a security problem

Endpoint protection and email filtering reduce the odds. They do not make restore optional. Isolated backups, current images, and a tested path back are what turn an incident into an ugly week instead of a closedown. This page and Cybersecurity are meant to be read together. The same team owns both.

Disaster recovery, in plain terms

DR is the plan for the day the office, the server room, or the tenant is not usable: where people work, which systems come back first, and how long that actually takes. We write that to the business you have, including hybrid and small on-prem footprints. We have managed environments from closet-sized to data-center scale; the plan should match the footprint, not a template from a national runbook.

Municipal and regulated data

Townships and boroughs cannot shrug at records retention or a downed clerk system. Public-record work in Warren Township and Flemington Borough included monitoring and backup as part of the IT scope — details on Municipal IT Services and Warren Township. We mention that as public record / with permission. We do not invent recovery-time trophies around it.

How this sits with managed IT

Backup is not a standalone product we toss over the wall. It is part of managed IT: monitoring tells us a job failed; the help desk is not the first time anyone hears about it; cloud and Microsoft 365 work includes the tenant copy. One Bridgewater team. Month-to-month. No contract to keep the jobs running.

Start with a free assessment

Bring what you already have — vendor names, last successful restore if you know it, and what you cannot afford to lose. We will tell you whether the current setup would survive a bad week. Request the assessment or call (855) 4-MARMIC.
